  • Abstract
    We characterize approach spaces by suitable systems of neighbour- hoods. We further characterize the lower separation axioms T0, T1, T2, and regularity and the measure of compactness using these neigh- bourhood systems. Also the approach space underlying an approach uniform space is described using the neighbourhood systems.
