Abstract :
Objective: This study was carried out to evaluate the opinions of the experts about the application of Health Information Systems in Turkey. Method:In this research, a two-dimensional research model, qualitative and quantitative, has been followed. In addition to the quantitative methods in the research, it was also aimed to obtain more detailed information on the topic investigated and to narrow down the limitations in quantitative research. In the course of the collection of qualitative data, face to face interviews were conducted with the Ministry of Health, Public Hospitals Institution, Training and Research Hospital and a special software company information systems education manager. To collect the quantitative data, the questionnaire was applied to employees working in a training and research hospital emergency room.Employees who use the emergency service and information system that are not selected as the sample for the questionnaire were included in the study. The data was collected between October 2016 and December 2016.The data obtained from the study were transferred to the computer, analyzed with appropriate statistical techniques and evaluated. Results and Conlusion: With many common aspects of the public information and healthcare information systems in the private sector, the public sector is more focused on issues such as standards and information security, while the private sector is more focused on social security institutions and payments.Particularly, public and private sectors can work together to train qualified human power and to make such studies on a wider sample.
