Abstract :
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L) is a kind of the fruit have powerful antioxidant activity because it contains flavonoids and tannins such as elagic acid, gallic acid punicalin, punicalagin, anthocyanins, elligatanin, gallotanin, quercetin, catechins coumpound. These compounds are known to prevent and inhibit the formation of free Radicals that cause premature aging and chronic disease. In this research pomegranate pericarp extract formulated into three concentrate of creams: 0.75%, 1 % and 2%. Physical stability test conducted by keeping those three concentrate of creams at three temperature conditions : in room temperature; 40C; 40 ±2 OC, centrifuge test and cycling test. This research showed that pomegranate pericarp extract cream 0.75%, 1 % and 2% had stable conditions after testing it at three temperature conditions, centrifuge test and cycling test. Determination of antioxidant activity conducted by DPPH reduction method based on the resulted inhibition value (IC50). By that, there is antioxidant activity at the three concentrate of creams: 0.75%, 1 % and 2% and meet the minimum value of IC50. Anova statistic test showed antioxidant activity on the three of creams has not a significant decreasing in keeping time from tO to t8 as well as before and after irradiation with UV A by Wilcoxon test.
