Abstract
Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) has attracted interest in the field of hepatobiliary surgery worldwide (1). Given the significant improvement in morbidity and mortality, the ALPPS became safer in experienced centres, while research on the mechanism of ALPPS lags far behind clinical studies.
