Abstract :
The objective was to modify the computer code Zinox-1 version 1.0 for the spark ignition engine developed by Teodorczyk[3] from one fuel option Gasoline to a mixture of ten fuels composition options. The fuels included in the computer code Zinox-1 version 2.0 which we modified, are Gasoline (C7H17), Methane (CH4), Hydrogen (H2), Ethane (C2H6), Propane (C3H8), Butane (C4H10), Octane (C8H18), Methanol (CH3OH), Ethanol (C2H5OH) and Carbon monoxide (CO).The spark ignition models (Zinox-1 version 1.0 and 2.0) used here are an extension of the model presented by Ferguson [4]. Ferguson [4] provides full details of the relevant differential equations, and the extended Zeldovich mechanism is used to describe the NOx formation; full details of the method and relevant rate constants are provided by Hey wood [5]
