Abstract :
This paper presents a computer simulation of increase of solar contribution in space heating for Sebha Solar House (Sebha-SH) at the Libyan South, 27.07°N and 14.25°E. This is done by the replacement of the old PV panels by equivalent PV-thermal collectors to achieve electricity heat cogeneration. The heat is stored and delivered by Rock-bed Thermal Energy Storage (TES). These technical modifications are cost dependent in practice; but theoretically using TRNSYS as simulation environment the overall system performance measured by the fraction of Solar Contribution (SC) and system energy efficiency measured by dynamic Collection Efficiency (CE) indicate clear improvement of solar-electrical energy conversion process with high Collection Storage Efficiency (CSE). Also, the long term TES possibility has been indicated.
