Abstract :
Excavations carried out in Caunos in Caria have yielded important glass finds which shed light on the Early Byzantine period of the city. The assemblage comprises about a hundred individual pieces among which goblets represent the majority. Lamps seem to be secondary largest group while the rest includes other table vessels. Among the evaluated pieces, besides typical well known forms of the Early Byzantine Period, such as lamps and goblets, other forms parexcellence, bottles with funnel mouth and conical lamps appear to have been produced as continuation of Late Roman glass tradition.
