Abstract :
This work includes a well group of Roman potteries found in the site of ancient Tabae, in the province of Kale, modern Denizli. In terms of form properties and diversity this pottery group is highly qualified and contains single and double handled jugs, amphoras and some storage vessels. With a few exceptions most of potteries are painted red but pale slip and after the evaluations it was understood that they belonged to the Late Hellenistic - Early Roman period and were made in local production. These potteries which are evaluated in detail and catalouged in the work, also provided that Tabae was an advanced city in the Roman period. We believe that this study will provide significant contributions to Anatolian archeology and pottery studies which will be soon.
