Abstract :
In this study, undergraduate students’ preferences and their willingness to pay for alternative offerings, knowledge and awareness of DRM technologies and opinions on DRM were investigated. We employed a survey research design. The data were collected via a self-designed web-based questionnaire. The results of the survey show that the majority of the students are willing to pay for digital products that offer them flexible usage rights. The findings also revealed that large parts of the students do not have the basic knowledge about DRM. In addition, more than half of the students who have knowledge about DRM do not care about their privacy.
