Abstract :
Purpose of this study was to evaluate adaptation and orientation books prepared in accordance with 4+4+4 regulation by basing on some criteria. In the study, experts’ opinions from different areas were taken by composing a group of 19 people and the data were analyzed by document analysis. According to the results, it was concluded that most of the activities and visuals in the books were not appropriate for the target group’s development level and included negative hidden messages; in the content there were scientific errors; in activities and instructions there were many language and expression problems. In conclusion, it can be recommended Turkish Education Board to take these problems into consideration and rewrite the books according to book design principles.
