Abstract :
In this paper, I analyze the linguistic aspects of the discussions that arose in Islamic theology over the issues known as Kalamullah (the Word of God) and the Createdness of the Qur’an. This analysis will tackle the relevant “phonetical,” structural,” and “theological” theories in an integrated fashion.
