The Data Related to The Process of Reasons of Revelation (Asbab Nuzul) in Tabarî’s (d. 310/922) Tafseer (Example of 1-5 verses of 96/Alaq Surah)

In this study, 1-5 verses of 96/Alaq Surah of the Quran about which there are generally similar narrations are evaluated according to the nuzul process. Basing on Tabarî’s narrations about these verses, we evaluated the isnads and matns of these narrations in the axis of narrative exegesis (tafseer riwayah). Meanwhile, we compared the narrations about these verses in Tabarî’s Tafsir (al-Câmi‘) with the narrations about the same verses in his Târikh. This study aims to get similar works started.
