Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of learning in museum activities upon the writing skills of 8th grade students. An experimental design was followed for this study. No significant reduction was found in the knowledge levels of the experimental group compared with the control group. While on the other hand there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups with regards to application levels and total scores. As a result of this research improvement in writing skills was found after learning in museum activities for students. The findings of this study suggest that modern approaches should be preferred to product-oriented traditional methods of improving writing skills through ‘out of school learning environments’.
