Abstract :
Haiku is a Japanese oriented poetry, which was influenced by different cultures and became a mode of world Literature. As it is consisted of a pattern of 5, 7, 5 mora, it is called the worlds shortest poetry. The are also some reflections of haiku into Turkish Literature. Orhan Veli Kanık (13 Nisan 1914 - 14 Kasım 1950) who made up Garip movement with Oktay Rifat and Melih Cevdet Anday is one of the Turkish poets influenced from haiku. In this article, two of Orhan Veli’s poems analysed in terms of haiku features they possess.
