Abstract :
Throughout the history, locations have been an essential source of inspiration for artists. They have reflected the impressions they gained from the environment and place where they locate to not only novels and stories but also travel notes and letters. Halide Edip Adıvar, one of the important writers of National Literature era, also conveyed her impressions from the places in a literary style in Yolculuk Notları section of her work called Dağa Çıkan Kurt. In Yolculuk Notları it is possible to come across those opinions she gained from İstanbul, Athens, Salonica, Vardar, Venice, Verona and Tyrol. The descriptions and the expression in these notes also give readers and researchers important clues about the literary identity of Halide Edip. The first part of the work informs us about the literary identity of Halide Edip and about the characteristics of the type of travel.The second part introduces the Yolculuk Notları section of the work, Dağa Çıkan Kurt. This part also mentions about how the places that influenced the writer reflected on her writing. As for the conclusion part, a general review regarding how the text, especially the descriptions based on her impressions, reveals about the literary life of the writer is done.
