THE SUBJECT OF ELDERLINESS IN THE GHAZELS OF TAŞLICALI YAHYA

This research evaluates the subject of elderliness in the ghazels of Taşlıcalı Yahya who has been created many valuable works through in his nearly a century of life. The subject of elderliness discussed occasionally in both his uniquely harmonic ghazels and his distinct couplets. These poems are too many to consider in regards to Yahya’s all ghazels, therefore, this clearly points out that Yahya did not quit writing poems even in his old ages. The poems about the elderliness subject inside Yahya’s Divan were examined in the form of subtitles such as athetosis and the deterioration of eyesight. In light of these examinations, the relation between poetry and reality has been tried to be evaluated in terms of divan poetry. In virtue of reviewed ghazels, Mehmed Çavuşoğlu who made a critical publication of the Yahya’s Divan, his thesis about the copy A was a copy of Yahya’s youth was re-considered while he was introducing the copies.
