Abstract :
The aim of this article is to determine the relationship between organizational structure and mobbing events in organizations and to find out which elements that characterize the structure of the organization are more closely associated with mobbing. That is, the aim is to find out the effects of elements that characterize the organizational structure such as goals, division of labor, distribution of tasks, centralization, control space, style, management layers, communication, control, efficiency and authority systems on the mobbing. In this research, the hospital organizations, which most of the mobbing complaints were made in Turkey, have been used as sample data. Since the mobbing concept is a sensitive and abstract one, a more suitable questionnaire technique has been applied to the employees working in private hospitals in the selected sample city Giresun. According to the research findings, it has been found out that the employees have been subject to mobbing at an intermediate and significant level. Moreover, it has been seen that this mobbing is associated with organizational structure, and mobbing tendency increases with the increasing of formalization in the organizational structure.
