Abstract :
Prior to agriculture, international trade is deemedone of the oldest human activities since ages, as AllahAlmighty bestowed different countries with differentwealth and made them in need for each other. Importand export are the most important activities ininternational trade currently. In relation to this, thisstudy aims to shed some light on sharia regulationspertaining to both activities in Islamic market; andto identify the economic goals of import and exportactivities as well as restrictions imposed on them. The study is based on deductive methodology byanalyzing theories from general to specific. The studyfinds that there are two types of restriction in Shariah:first, restrictions that directly affect the control of thequantity of goods imported and exported, and the second restrictions are those that indirectly affect the quantity of goods imported and exported. This studysuggests some Shariah parameters for each type ofrestrictions. Failure to comply to the parameters maylead to neglect of economic goal in Shariah as wellas the interest of the public and perpetuate injusticein the community.
