Abstract :
This article aims to examine the extent of compliance of consumers of Islamic banking institutions (IPI), particularly Muslim individual, towards the bank choice determinants according to the ideal Muslim (PPBMMI). Does the ideal Muslim society exists, especially in Terengganu, the earliest state to receive Islam in Malaysia and is well-known for adopting the Islamic governance system? This article attempts to answer this question by focusing on the results of analysis of the relationship between PPBMMI and IPI choice behavior among Muslims. The Pearson correlation test which was conducted on 429 Muslim consumers in Terengganu indicated a positive relationship between the IPI choice behavior and PPBMMI. However, the strength of the relationship between these two variables was only at a moderate level.
