Abstract :
the purpose of this research is to determine the type of speech act that exist in the movie the good doctor. this research uses descriptive qualitative method. the source of the research data is subtitles on the movie the good doctor. this research uses document analysis to analyze data, and focus group discussion is carried out to validate the data. types of speech acts are found in the movie are assertive, directive, expressive, commissive.
