Abstract :
There are varieties of studies and reviews regarding political landscape of Sarawak as was shown in the results of Sarawak State Election 2011. Most studies and reviews however, do not emphasize on the element of space in observing voting behavior. Therefore, the role of space elements such as location, core area of politics, and size need to be examined in order to understand the results of Sarawak Election 2011 from spatial perspectives. Geographic Information System - GIS is used to analyse spatial aspects easily. Based on the results of earlier studies, it is found that the spatial element indicates significance with voting behavior in Sarawak . The discussion on the extent of the role spatial element plays is examined to obtain comprehensive views in studying the voting behaviour in Malaysia, especially in the 13th General Elections.
