Abstract :
This paper describes the extension of the semantics of adjectives light use Langacker Network Model. Network Model adjective light is illustrated to show the occurrence of the three relationships are expanding the meaning of categorization based on data obtained from the corpus data Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP). The adjective light is analyzed as the word light is a word that belongs as polysemy. Analysis of the adjective light shows the extension of the meaning systematically by its position in the sentence and context. Basically, the adjective light is synonymous with its core meaning refers to the size, but the analysis with examples of sentences that have been shown through the data corpus proves that the expansion of the meaning of this word is also related to other domains such as abstract 8 (idiomatic) abstract (sentiment), abstract (sound), abstract (power), abstract (time), abstract (food), abstract (activities) and abstract (reading). In fact, using this Langacker Network Model, a word you want to show the extension of the meaning can be represented by a simple and precise. Therefore, this paper is expected to be produced from the reader can further research on the semantics of this extension, as the author believes there is still a domain that can be discussed again. This study may indirectly strengthen and enrich the research in the field of semantics.
