Abstract :
In the study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of Five E Instructional Model on the first year science undergraduates’ attitudes towards physics laboratory and development of scientific process skills. In these quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design study, the sample consisted of total of 60 undergraduate students. Experimental group performed Five E Instructional Model in Physics Laboratory I Lesson, while the control group performed traditional verification experiments in the first semester of 2007–2008 academic year. The data was collected through two different tests; Attitude towards Physics Laboratory Test and Scientific Process Skills Test. The tests were administered to the experimental and the control group students at the beginning and end of the course as pretest and posttest. Pretest and posttest scores collected by the two tests were statistically analyzed by SPSS packet program. The statistical analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between experimental and control group with respect to students’ attitude toward physics laboratory and scientific process skills.
