Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine whether a difference exists between the developmentallevels of children who did and did not undergo project based training. The the study was realizedat two independent kindergartens affiliated to the Ministry of National Education at Ankaraprovince. The kindergartens constituted the test group (19 children) and the control group (19children), respectively. This is an experimental study which used the pre and post test controlgorup experimental design to determine the effects of project based training on children’sdevelopment. General information about the participating children and their families weregathered by using a “General Information Form”, and children’s development was assessedwith pre-, post- and retention tests by using the “Brigance Early Development Inventory II”. A total of 99 PBL hours was taught 3 times weekly for 6 weeks (33 days), approximately 3 hoursper day. The experimental group received Project Based Training Program 3 days weekly for6 weeks (half a day each time). While experimental children were undergoing project basedtraining, control children from a different school continued their own regular training. . Thestudy has revealed that there is a meaningful difference between the total pre and post-test infavor of the experimental group children in the Brigance Development Inventory II (p .01,p .05).
