Abstract :
Lexicology which provides the comprehension and explanation form of a common system of a language attains a cultural repertoire which transfers from the past to present for people who speak the same language. Tales that have a big part in the comprehension and development of the mother tongue, and enriching imaginative and emotional power is transferred from past to present lively by means of the lexicology which possesses from the marks of the culture it is born. In this study, the tale texts in the course books and companion course books used in primary school 6th, 7th, 8th grades in Kastamonu in the 2009-2010 educational year were examined to identify the cultural transfer roles of these texts by investigating the Turkish lexicology and the spiritual and material cultural features.
