Abstract :
It is really difficult to find an answer to the question how a painting studio course should be taught in painting studio courses at undergraduate level. There are different approaches and systems in the faculties in various region of Turkey, even in two different ateliers of the same department. But as in every field, an applicable common language in painting courses will legalize the knowledge to be given in these courses. This common language should consist of concepts and terms which find their sources in the history and culture of the art itself. Thus, problems and solutions seen in the history of the art present a suggestible valid framework in that students learn plastics within the scope of painting studio education.
