Abstract :
As a result of national educational reform efforts since 2003, Turkey reorganized its educational system and updated the curriculum in all disciplines in guidance of the constructivist learning theory. The purpose of this study is to investigate the views of science and techonology teachers in terms of their acceptance of the constructivist activities including; teaching and learning applications, classroom communication, classroom management, student assessment, and use of classroom enviroment. 429 Science and Techonolgy teachers from 70 elementary schools in 14 different provinces participated in the study during 2006-2007 academic year.Data for the study is collected by using a Likert type questionnaire based upon teacherresponses. In the analysis of data, frequency tables, percentage values, and arithmetical meancalculations were used and reported. The results of the study showed that most of the scienceand technology teachers’ accepted the following constructivist learning activities; teaching andlearning applications, classroom communication, classroom management, student assessment,and use of classroom enviroment.
