SECONDARY PRE-SERVICE MATHEMATICS TEACHERS’ VIEWS ABOUT MATHEMATICAL PROOF

In this study, secondary school pre-service mathematics teachers’ views were investigatedabout mathematical proof. The participant of this study consist of 12 pre-service mathematicsteachers who were enrolled in the fourth grade in the secondary school mathematics educationdepartment from a university located in the east part of Turkey. The data of this study weregathered by means of semi structured “Mathematical Proof View Interview Form” (MPVIF).According to the findings of this study, majority of the pre-service teachers who attended tothe study reflected positive views for mathematical proof. In addition, the results of the studywas discussed by comparing it with literature. Then, some suggestions were presented for theresearchers who are interested in this area.
