Abstract :
English has become the international lingua franca for business andcommunication. In Pakistan, it is being extensively used in official,commercial and educational domains. A huge number of IslamizedEnglish-medium schools have emerged as a result of this phenomenon.The researcher selected one of the Islamic education based Englishmedium institutes for evaluating English Language Teaching programin such religiously administered cultural centers. Qualitative researchmethodology was used for this study. Data was collected throughpersonal visits in terms of classroom observations, semi structuredinterviews and classroom recording. A convenient sampling was usedfor this study. Data were analyzed in terms of syllabus design,teachers’ performance and selection criteria, teaching methodology,text books and testing. At the end a number of suggestions have beengiven for the improvement of the program in light of findings of thestudy. This study also provides an insight into the attitude ofreligiously inclined people toward English.
