Abstract :
Malignant tumors of the small bowel are rare. Burkitt’s lymphoma is a high grade Bcell neoplasm under the umbrella of non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. We present a caseof a Burkitt’s lymphoma of the jejunum in a 16 years old girl who presented as subacute intestinal obstruction. On exploration there is a jejunal tumour involving one foot long segment of the jejunum, starting 6 inches from the duodeno-jejunal flexure. Tumour segment is resected. Histopathologically it showed an Advanced Burkitt’s Lymphoma confined to jejununal wall with margins free of the tumor. The tumour stained positive for pan B cell marker. After successful surgical excision of the tumour, recovery is smooth. Patient is followed up in oncology department for Chemotherapy.
