Abstract :
The term burnout was first coined by Freudenbergerin the mid 1970s. He described it among volunteers working with drug abusers found to have lack of motivation, gradual emotional depletion and reduced commitment.1 Subsequently, burnout was redefined for employees working in stressful conditions as a psychological syndrome related to inadequate resources and demanding job conditions..Modern medical practitioners find job stress and burnout as important issues affecting their health and wellbeing.
