Abstract
Since 1989, unusual cases of opportunistic infections and CD4 + Ttlymphocytopenia in the absence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection have been reported. Patients with idiopathic CD4 + Ttlymphocytopenia (ICL) may be asymptomatic or may suffer from opportunistic infections that are very similar to those found in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. We describe a 12tyeartold male without known risk factors for decreased cellular immunity, who presented with bronchiectasis, candidiasis, clubbing and hyperimmunoglobulin A.
