TO BE EVALUATED THE FEATURES TO PROVIDE THE SOURCE TO EPIC FILM DESIGN IN THE OTTOMAN PERIOD ALBUM PORTRAITS NARRATIVE

This study puts forth the characteristic narration features that can be source to the epic film design of character and space designs in portrait narrative in the album painting from 18th century Ottoman Period painting arts made with miniature technique. Characters, spaces and décor objects in 6 portraits selected from a album painting by Levni in Topkapı Palace Museum are examined with social semiotics method. The features of figures, spaces , objects and small texts explaining figures in Portraits paintings in the study express a visual story narrative giving historical past period reality, that is, epic reality. It is important to benefit from design fictions of art areas that has epic features for Ottoman Period epic film narrative . This situation requires to benefit from album portraits showing visual narrative for epic films.
