Abstract :
Society-wide problems require changes on both individual and societal levels. Personal capacities like influencing others and representing social actions are of importance to solve such problems. The concept of action competence was first introduced as an inclusive concept for such personal competencies. Integrating the concept into the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) is assumed to be a milestone on our way to an information society. The purpose of the current study is to introduce the concept of ICT action competence, and to discuss the importance of ICT action competence.
