Design-Based Research and Its Implementation in the Design and Development of Learning Environments

Nowadays when the results of education research are investigated, it is seen that they have little effect in everyday practice and theorizing. Design based research, which were developed in this context, support concretizing theories about learning and teaching, and help to understand the relationships among theory, design and practice. Design based research has a great potential especially in researching and designing e-learning environments. In this paper, the principles and the research processes of design based research are explained and how design based research can be used in researching and designing e-learning environments is discussed according to the related literature
