Dialysis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The dialysis statistics prepared by the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT) at the end of year 2009 showed a total of 12,040 dialysis patients, 10,928 of them are treated by Hemodialysis and the remaining 1,112 by peritoneal dialysis. The prevalence of end-stage renal failure treated by dialysis is estimated to be 475 cases/pmp. Total death was 1376 (11.4%), while the incidence of treated ESRD is estimated at 122 cases/pmp.
