Abstract :
This research was conducted with the aim of establishing the relationship between the period of drug abuse and memory as well as to observe its implication on the control system and relapse behaviour of the drug addicts. In addition, the interaction of the length of drug abusing activities and memory functioning was also examined. In fact, the differences of the respondents memory ability were examined based on the differences of the item difficulty and the level of difficulties. This study was carried out by using Between Group and Within Group design (Mixed Design). About 40 subjects were chosen through stratified random sampling method with each group represented by 20 drug abusers. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. The hypothesis was tested using ANOVA (Repeated Measure). The result of the study showed that there was a significant difference between type of item difficulties and the abusing period with memory. This study showed that drug abusing period influenced control system and relapse behaviour.
