(SOCIAL CRITISM IN MALAY FILM ZOMBI KAMPUNG PISANG)

Social criticism in film is one of the important matters where it resembles the society. Various social criticisms were featured in the films, especially in Malay films. This can be seen through the film directed by Mamat Khalid that portrayed social criticism in the society such as Zombi Kampung Pisang. Therefore, this study is to identify and analyze the social criticism in the film Zombi Kampung Pisang. This study utilizes the qualitative method, in terms of collecting and analyzing the data. The results of the study revealed that the film is lack of patriotism, illegal racing in society, vandalism and cultural imperialism among Malay community. Therefore, this study opens an opportunity to future researchers to study social criticism found in the Malay film produced in Malaysia.
