Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of pre-season training on selected physical and physiological characteristics of a soccer team’s players which take part in the Turkish Super League. For determining of participant’s physical and physiological qualities; age, body weight and height, leg strength, vertical jump, flexibility were measured and anaerobic power, body mass index, body fat percentage, body fat mass, fat free mass and total body water values estimated. These values, which obtained before and after preparation period, were compared as statistical. Statistical analysis was done by using Wilcoxon Two-Related-Samples Test. Alpha level was set as 0.05 for statistical significance. In conclusion; “Wilcoxon Two-Related-Samples Test” results indicated that there wasn’t any significant difference (p 0.05) in body weight, leg strength, anaerobic power and body mass index but vertical jump, flexibility, body fat percentage, body fat mass, fat free mass and total body water values have significant differences (p 0.05) between two measurements
