A COMPARISON OF THE LEVELS OF THE JOB SATISFACTION FOR THE TEACHERS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION WHO WORK AT PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENT PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ANKARA

The problem of this research is, by comparing the levels of work satisfaction of the teachers of physical education and sports employed in private and government primary and secondary schools in Ankara, to emphasize the importance of the work satisfaction on their work life. Scientists have developed several tests to measure the job satisfaction of staff. In this research, Spector ^1(1997) “Job Satisfaction Questionnaire” have been used. In this research, the levels of work satisfaction of the teachers of physical education were handled with nine dimensions which affect totally work satisfaction. These nine dimensions are wage, advancement, director, supporting possibility, prize, procedure, co-worker, dimensions of the job and communication. In this research, totally 238 government primary and secondary schools were randomly choosed 120 school and 60 teacher who are 40 men and 20 women employed in Ankara metropolitan town which are Yenimahalle, Sincan and Bala. Totally, 44 private primary and secondary schools’ 60 teachers who are 20 men and 20 women employed in Ankara metropolitan town which are Yenimahalle, Keçiören and Etimesğut.Following finding have been reached as the result of statistical analysis; The totally job satisfactions levels of private schools’ physical education teachers have got more satisfactory than government schools’ physical education teachers. The sub dimension job satisfactions levels of private schools’ teachers have got more satisfactory than government schools’ teacher. The totally job satisfactions and sub dimensions job satisfaction levels of women who are physical education teachers have got more satisfactory than men who are physical education teachers. It is stated here that factors mentioned totally job satisfaction levels negatively, and advised some measures to increase the job satisfaction of teachers has been proposed at the end of the investigation.
