Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to determine the teacher behaviors within classroom according to their own perception and compare these behaviors in terms of gender, branch and educational level. Study group consist of voluntary profession taechers (n=67) working four primary schools gone for intership Ankara University Department of Physical Education and Sport Teacher during the education year of 2007-2008. The data collection was utilized by applying Teacher Behaviors Within Classroom Scale (TBCS). Scale having 27 items were prepared with the base of five type likert scale (every time=5, never=1). All items are positive. Getting high point from the scale means showing learner centered behaviors frequently. For reliability of the scale, Cronbach Alpa coefficient was .904; for this study coefficient was .914. End of the study, it was determined that mean of points taken by from the scale of teachers were high ( X¯= 4.14).. Beside this, female teachers dislay more learner centered behaviors than male taechers within classroom [t (65)=2.64 p .05]. Within classroom teacher beahviors have not shown a significant differences according to branch [t(65) =0.778, p .05] and educational level [t(65)=1.455, p .05]. These findings can be interpreted as teachers usually display learner centered behaviors within classroom
