VIEWS OF UNIVERSITY TEACHING STAFF ON ELEMENTARY PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM

The purpose of this study is; constructivist approach to education prepared with an interaction program in university teaching staff in primary physical education curriculum with lessons to learn about the opinions and to search thoroughly different perspectives about the program . The research universe is constructed with the university teaching staff from the teaching physical education department divisions. The research group is selected from 13 university including 66 faculty members. The research was applied in 2009-2010 spring semester of educational year. The result of the research is determined by the opinions of university teaching staff about ‘Concerning the Acquisition Program Reviews’ and ‘Comments Relating to the program s content’ overall average on the partially agree. The results obtained from one-on-one interviews with the program as a whole, including the creation of universities into the process was not found. There is no curriculum guide books, many academic staff. This is the result of universities can be considered as an indication of lack of communication with the Ministry of Education. According to the views of the teaching staff, one of the important results of the research is the hours of physical education lesson being not enough to implement efficiently the curriculum in the primary and secondary schools. Another consequence of the survey; Although it was passed to a new teaching program in 2006-2007 educational year , the insufficiency of in-service training programs concerning efficient implemantion and presentation of the program and some university faculty members’ not carrying out the lectures according to the constructivist approach courses.
