Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to develop a scale to measure the perceptions of athletes about coaches’ unethical behaviors. Participants were 112 athletes from 16 different sports branches. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis conducted concerning the 40 items in the scale findings point to three factor scale. Scale was reduced to 19. Item loadings are reported between 0.579 and 0.825. In order to test reliability of the scale, Cronbach Alpha scores and two-halves test correlation coefficients were checked. They were reported as 0.93 and 0.83 respectively. As a conclusion; it was determined in the outcome of the validity and reliability study that the scale developed for determining the unethical behaviors of coaches in terms of athletes is a practicable tool for scaling.
