Abstract :
The aim of this research is to adapt the “Event Quality Perception” scale devised by Ko, Zhang, Cattani and Pastore (2011) into Turkish. In line with this purpose, the scale was applied to the spectators of The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics in Istanbul and tests such as content validity (the opinions of experts, two of whom were linguists, were asked), convergent validity (factor loadings range from 0,426 to 0,773), discriminant/external validity (moderate and strong positive relationships for all factors) and construct validity (5-factors and 34 items) were performed. Then, to investigate the invariance property of the scale, a test-retest technique (a strong positive linear relationship), a coefficient of internal consistency Cronbach’s Alpha (0,898), and Item-Total Correlation (item values between 0.39 and 0.80) analyses were performed. Furthermore, a confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the accuracy of the five-dimensional structure desinged as a result of the Explanatory Factor Analysis. The result of the study, which aimed at investigating the reliability and validity of the scale in the Turkish language and culture, indicated that a valid and reliable scale tool has been obtained and thus the research has reached its goal.
