ADAPTATION OF THE MORAL DISENGAGEMENT IN SPORT SCALE-SHORT INTO TURKISH CULTURE: A VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY IN A TURKISH SAMPLE

The aim of this study is the adaptation of the Moral Disengagement in Sport Scale-Short (MDSS-S) in-to Turkish culture. Data was collected from 152 female and 198 male totally 350 athletes with a mean age of 22,13 (±2,37). Cronbach’s Alfa Coefficient of the MDSS-S was found 0,78. The validity of the MDSS-S analyzed with con-firmatory factor analysis (CFA). Fit indices values for all parameters were found to be good or excellent (Chi-square/df=2,99; GFI= 0,97; AGFI= 0,94; CFI= 0,92; NNFI= 0,88; RMSEA= 0,068; SRMR= 0,052). Data’s structure obtained from MDSS-S was found to be similar to the original scale. As a result, the validity and reliability coefficients of MDSS-S obtained from the Turkish form was found to be adequate.
