Abstract :
The Assyrians that is one of the oldest people of the Mesopotamia has been divided into various groups because of the difference of opinion about the nature of Jesus. While the Nestorians that is one of these groups were living in peace without interfering their beliefs, religious ceremonies, and life styles by Ottoman Empire under its sovereignty, they revolted against Ottoman Empire under the influence of western states during the World War I. They also involved in hostile acts during the national struggle.Signing of Lausanne Peace Treaty and Nestorians’ situation in the period that followed the negotiations for Mosul Affair are tried to be expreesed in this article.
