Abstract
After Turkey and Greece had become a member of the NATO Alliance on 18 February 1952, NATO’s Supreme Commander General Eisenhower visited Turkey and Greece. When in Turkey, General Eisenhower met with the Turkish authorities and especially commanders on March 1952 and He was affected very much by success and discipline of Turkish Army. United States President Eisenhower started a trip from Washington to Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Greece, Tunisia, France, Spain and Morocco in the evening of December 3,1959. So Eisenhower was recorded to be the first United States President visit Turkey in history. The Turkish citizens met USA President Eisenhover enthusiastically during his visit. Political, economic and cultural affairs were negotiated. As a result, the necessity of cooperate among the two countries was emphasized.
