Abstract :
Ottoman statesmen since the beginning of the 19th century well understood the growing supremacy of European states and try to counter this with the policy of Westernization. Carriers of the system began to question themselves and doubt about validity of the system. According to the emerging new mental, the main reason of the Ottoman state remain back against the West was the West s technical hegemony. Handling of the problem as a remedy was to reform the Ottoman Empire in western sense and seen to be as the west. Union and Progress Party was founded with name of Ittihad-i Osmani League as a secret society to dethrone Sultan II Abdulhamid. The political activism that aims to save the state took place at the forefront idea of CUP. Seeing the separation of various nationalist movements gained success each passing day, the main concern of the Young Turks was to rescue the autonomy and geographical integrity of the Ottoman Empire.
