Abstract :
Kosovo, who cut off relations with another government in the 21st century and is one of the exceptional countries whose independence gained acceptance in the international arena, is began to be shown as a role model in many respects from the recognization of the independence of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) by the countries other than Turkey to the way of terminating the civil war in Syria and the political structure that can be formed after the civil war. The key factor that makes The Republic of Kosovo, who declared its independence on 17 February 2008 and is recognized currently by 95 (ninety five) countries, different from the other countries is its reaching today’s status after the sequence of events following the air operations that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) launched without receiving an authorization approval from the United Nations (UN). In order to justify the military intervention it made, NATO put forward reasons such as putting an end to the misery in Kosovo, providing stability in the Eastern Europe and increasing the credibility of NATO. However, it is assessed that the primary objective is preventing the veto of the standing members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) such as Russia and China. The study named “Kosovo in the Historical Process” was carried out in the way of literature review, and in addition to printed Turkish and English references electronic access resources was also used, quantitative and qualitative research techniques was used together.
