Aydın Province Assembly Of National Defence And Some Actions

First Balkan War resulted in an unexpected defeat of Ottoman army. Followingthis defeat, as a result of the call of power party, the Committee of Union andProgress, Turkish intellectuals established Assembly of National Defence, AydınProvince Assembly of National Defence was one of the most active provinceorganizations of Assembly of National Defence which organized all around thecountry in a very short time. Aydın Province Assembly of National Defence carriedout very essential actions in this region between the Balkan Wars and the First World War period. As a result of these actions carried out by the Commitee duringthe war, not only the weak and helpless people were protected but also were tried toprevent the negative effects of the war behind the front lines. Intellectuals and localpeople who were assigned within the branches of Assembly of Defence gained a lotof experiences for the Greek struggle after the Armistice.
